• Deep within my family history lies a sublime tale that dates back to 1798, in a picturesque French village called Ain, bordering Switzerland. In this initial chapter of this chronicle, my family, guided by the hope of a more promising tomorrow, embarked on a journey of miles, crossing borders and challenges, coming from Spain.

The traces of this journey, marked by uncertainty and resilience, culminated in Paris in 1799. Here, at the pinnacle of Parisian society, a new stage unfolded for my beloved ancestor, who, initially as a cook, captivated a wealthy, upper-class family with her culinary skills and innate elegance.

However, fate had an unexpected twist in store. The lady of the house, who did not have a couturière, saw a unique potential in my ancestor. Thus, the definitive chapter in the life of this truly visionary woman began, as she established herself as the family couturière.

The revelation of our family history was triggered during the period of confinement that we all remember, the year 2020, when a suitcase, a silent witness of bygone eras, emerged from oblivion. In its contents, beyond rosaries and dictionaries, a secret compartment was revealed, safeguarding sketches of a transcendental era: the end of the French Revolution and the beginning of a revolution in fashion.

Inspired by this period of radical change, my ancestor challenged the conventions of her time by sketching innovative designs, including a pant dress that broke with the restrictions placed on women at the time. During the French Revolution, women began wearing trousers as a form of rebellion and an expression of equality. These trousers were known as “pants à la Turque” and were inspired by oriental-inspired clothing.

This legacy, whose value had been kept secret for generations, resurfaced to become the muse and source of inspiration for Let's Courage.

Collaboration with the master of the house, a writer and businessman, allowed my ancestor to materialize her visions on cotton paper. In this creative exercise, she not only conceived a pair of women's trousers, but also a suit jacket, among others, fusing the essence of Parisian art with the Spanish imprint.

In a series of meticulously written letters, my ancestor, with the help of the Lord of the house, requested and received exquisite fabrics from different countries. From fine Italian satins and velvets to Chinese silk, each thread told a unique story that, masterfully woven, became a tangible expression of elegance and distinction.

At Let's Courage, every stitch is a tribute to this pioneering vision, a reminder that fashion not only reflects the present, but also channels the bold spirit of those who came before us. The suitcase, a forgotten relic, thus becomes a tangible link to our legacy, guiding us with a contemporary touch into the future.

Each garment created at Let's Courage is an ode to that wonderful legacy, a harmonious fusion of Parisian elegance and Spanish art, perpetuating the vision of a woman ahead of her time. In this journey through time and fashion, Let's Courage pays homage to the passion and tenacity that drives our present and inspires us to embrace the courage inherited from our ancestors.

With love and appreciation,
